WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein women's soccer team remained perfect in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) following a 6-2 victory over Heidelberg Saturday afternoon inside of Memorial Stadium. The Cardinals (11-2, 5-0 OAC), extending their winning streak to nine matches, were paced by sophomore Bella Shivley as she recorded three goals before the intermission.

Shivley's first goal came in the fifth minute on a free kick attempt. Shivley took the shot just outside the 18-yard box, as the ball deflected off of a Heidelberg defender and went past goalkeeper Alexandra Farmer. Otterbein continued the attack 12 minutes later, as Priscilla Severance beat a Heidelberg defender and crossed the ball to an unmarked Shivley giving the Cardinals a 2-0 advantage.

Shivley would record her hat trick the 23rd minute, as Myiah Kelley found her classmate open at the top-right side of the box and Shivley would place the ball perfectly over the goalkeeper's head.

Heidelberg (6-8-1, 1-4 OAC) stayed resilient and found the back of the net in the 31st minute.  The Student Princes continued to push Otterbein, as Erica Campbell took a shot from just inside the box and went bar-in cutting the deficit to one goal.

The last Cardinal goal of the half came from Kelley, as she attempted a shot that Farmer was able to save. Kelley stuck with the play and followed her shot, giving Otterbein a 4-2 edge at the break.

Otterbein started the second period off on the right foot, as Emily Ganz buried a penalty kick in the 48th minute. One minute later, Otterbein fouled Heidelberg in its box resulting in a penalty kick for the Student Princes. Amanda Sugrue took the PK for Heidelberg, but her shot hit off the post keeping the score at 5-2.

Katie Best made a spectacular play on the defensive side of the pitch, as Campbell of Heidelberg made a move to get past Otterbein's new goalkeeper Katie Both. Best stuck with the play and cleared the ball away from the open net.

Haley Hott would join in on the scoring action in the 80th minute, as she buried a penalty kick giving Otterbein a 6-2 lead. The scoring would not come as frequent in the second half, but the game would become physical with three yellow cards being issued.

Otterbein controlled majority of the possession time and owned a 31-8 lead in total shots. Erin Gordon would go 49 minutes before exiting and handing off the reigns to Both.

The Cardinals will stay in Westerville as they host Wilmington Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
