FULL RESULTS
KENT, Ohio – The Otterbein wrestling team launched its 2018-19 season Friday night with a trio of outings at the Kent State University Duals, hosted inside the KSU Field House and welcoming competition from multiple divisions.
The Cardinals dropped duals against a pair of nationally-ranked Division II opponents in No. 13 Ashland (33-11) and No. 14-ranked Lake Erie (34-14). Otterbein gathered a victory against Mercyhurst North East by a final score of 40-9.
Junior tri-captains
Jackson Lakso (125),
Corbin Bunsold (197) and
Drew Kasper (285 heavyweight) opened their seasons with perfect 3-0 starts.
Lakso, ranked 12th in the country to begin this season, tallied a fall in getting his season off to a nice start while Bunsold, who missed all of last year with an injury, made a strong return in his new weight class. He also registered a fall.
Kasper, a national qualifier last winter as a sophomore at 197, dominated the competition in his heavyweight debut with a pair of technical falls.

Otterbein will get right back to action this coming Sunday at the Case Western Reserve Invitational, scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.
