WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein women's soccer team has now earned back-to-back 3-0 victories after defeating Wittenberg Tuesday night at Memorial Stadium, as the Cardinals dominated all facets of the contest by holding advantages in shots (24-3) and corner kicks (9-4).

The first half was all Otterbein, finding multiple opportunities but unable to convert its chances. Sydney Young attempted the first shot of the game in the fourth minute that was slightly above the crossbar.

In the 34th minute, Katie Exline received a pass in the middle of the field and was able to turn quickly attempting a shot from just outside the 18-yard box that sailed right over the goal. At the intermission, the Cardinals owned a 16-0 edge in shots and led 7-1 in corner kicks.

After not converting on any chances in the first half, the Tan and Cardinal got on the scoreboard in the 47th minute as Myiah Kelley found a loose ball in the box and took a strike that would beat goalkeeper Emma Schewe. The sequence began when Delaney Earl beat a defender towards the end line and slipped an initial pass into the box.

Wittenberg fouled Bella Shivley near midfield in the 57th minute, and she was aware that Earl had a step on the defense and hurried for the free kick. Shivley played a perfect ball over the top with Earl finishing the play, beating the keeper near post and scoring her third goal of the season.

The Cardinals found their last goal in the 61st minute on a perfect sequence as Earl beat a Tiger defender, crossing the ball into the box and finding Priscilla Severance who was able to head the ball into the upper-right corner of the net.

Wittenberg's closest opportunity came shortly after as Erin Gordon leaped over a Tiger attacker and punched the ball out of harms way. Gordon went the distance again for Otterbein to secure another shutout while the Tigers used two keepers on the opposite end. Kelly Corbin and Schewe combined for 10 saves on what was a busy night for the visitors.

Otterbein now improves to 4-2 on the season and Wittenberg drops to 2-4-1 overall. The Cardinals will get back on the road and take on Manchester Saturday at 1 p.m.
