ALLIANCE, Ohio- Otterbein women's soccer started Ohio Athletic Conference play Saturday night by way of traveling to Mount Union, where the Cardinals would dominate the host Purple Raiders, 4-1. With the victory Otterbein moves to 8-1-1 and 1-0 in the OAC, while Mount Union falls to 4-4-1, 0-1.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Otterbein got on the board first thanks to a Mount Union own goal at 18:39.
- The second half scoring outburst got started when Delaney Earl was able to locate her running mate Bella Shivley, putting the Cards up 2-0 at 47:55.
- Myiah Kelley got in on the action just two minutes later scoring a goal from the set up of Shivley to give the Cards a 3-0 lead.
- Shivley found the net again at 70:36 to cap off the Cardinal scoring for the night.
- Mount Union was able to break up the Cardinal shutout at 72:59 when Maggie O'Donnell found teammate Kassity Miller for the lone Raider goal.
- Erin Gordon played the full 90 minutes for the Cards, making just one save on two Raider shots on goal.
- Mount Union used two goal keepers, who made a combined 16 saves on 20 shots on goal.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Otterbein has now won three straight games against the Raiders.
- The Cards are 9-0-1 in their last 10 matches with Mount Union.
