FINAL RESULTS
WILMINGTON, Ohio – The No. 15-ranked Otterbein wrestling team opened Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action with a shutout Tuesday evening, blanking host Wilmington College in a 53-0 final at the Fred Raizk Arena.
The Cardinals improve to 3-2 in dual meets this season with the 37-minute triumph over the Quakers, who were hosting their first home contest in two decades. Wilmington is 0-2 on the young season head-to-head.
Freshman
Chase Nelson opened the night with a 9-6 decision, followed by a forfeit at 133 pounds and then a 31-second pin by
Santino DiSabato at 141.
Jacob Williams and
Ryan Whitten proceeded with major decisions to reach the halfway point of the bouts.
Willy Plaisir (165) and
Joey Bradberry (174) both tallied first-round falls and
Corbin Bunsold, the reigning OAC Wrestler of the Week, took a forfeit victory. Jarrod Setlif pinned his opponent in 20 seconds and
Drew Kasper, the top-ranked heavyweight in the nation, followed with a 34-second pin of his own.
Otterbein will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Michigan for a dual with Rochester Sunday at 2 p.m.
