Tuesday Sweep! Cardinals Fly Past Yellow Jackets, 67-44

Waynesburg, PA- Otterbein men's basketball flew past Waynesburg Tuesday night, 67-44. The win is the largest of the season, and improves the men to 3-2, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 0-5.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Otterbein jumped all over the Yellow Jackets in the first half leading by 15 at the break, 37-22.
     
  • The Cardinals shot 44 percent from the field in the first 20 minutes and played tough defense, holding the Yellow Jackets to just 33 percent.
     
  • The Cards out rebounded Waynesburg in the first half 22-16, while grabbing seven offensive boards.
     
  • Justin Carter led the way at the break with nine points and six rebounds.
     
  • The Cardinal second half was similar to the first, outscoring the hosts 30-22 over the final 20 minutes to emerge victorious.
     
  • Otterbein forced Waynesburg into tough shots in the second, holding the Yellow Jackets to just 8-25 from the field and 1-9 from three.
     
  • On the other side of things, the Cards went 12-27 from the field, matching their first half percentage of 44.
     
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • Carter finished the evening leading the Cards with 13 points and 6 boards.
     
  • Freshman Dallas Patrick secured a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes of action.
     
  • Cam Edmondson and Kobe Long-Weber each contributed 12 points of their own in the victory.
     
  • Otterbein led for 31:13 of 40 minutes of game time, and never lost the lead in the second half.
     
  • The Cards largest lead of the night was 23, while the Yellow Jackets once led by four points in the first half.
     
UP NEXT :
  • Otterbein will return taction after Thanksgiving break by way of traveling to Marietta on December 4th to open up OAC action, tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
