BLUFFTON, Ohio- Otterbein men's basketball dropped a pair of games over the weekend at the McDonald's of Bluffton Holiday Classic. The Cardinals fell to the host Bluffton Beavers on Saturday, 50-70, before losing on Sunday to Albion, 80-54. The pair of losses drops the Cards to 3-7 on the season.
SATURDAY:
Otterbein took on the host Beavers in the first game of the Holiday classic, where they were led by freshman standout
Dallas Patrick who scored a game-high 18 points.
Reid Black and
Mo Beavers were the only other Cardinals to score double digits, each with 10.
Bluffton was paced by Andrew Renner with 14 points, while Jameel Cosby scored 13. Bluffton gained its edge by turning 15 Cardinal turnovers into 23 points.
SUNDAY:
In the second game of the weekend,
Kobe Long-Weber led the way for the Cards, scoring 13 points. Patrick was the only other Cardinal to eclipse double-digits with 12 points, s he earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Albion was led by Caden Ebeling who scored a game-high 15 points, and also collected 6 rebounds. Quinton Armstrong and Josh Palo each added 12 points of their own. Albion took advantage of the offensive glass, scoring 15 second chance points to just two for the Cards. Albion also dominated the paint, outscoring Otterbein 50-22.
Otterbein will return to action on Saturday, January 4
, traveling to Muskingum to face the Muskies at 2 p.m.
