MARIETTA, Ohio – Otterbein made it two-straight wins on the women's lacrosse field Wednesday evening, walking away from host Marietta College with a lopsided 15-1 victory in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play.
The Cardinals, now 5-8 overall and 2-2 within the league, received a career-high seven goals from sophomore
Cameron Finnegan en route to the triumph.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Otterbein scored six times in the first 10 minutes to take immediate control, with four different players finding the back of the net.
Â
- Marietta's only goal came at 10:44 in the first half, but the Cards responded with another and eventually carried a 9-1 lead into intermission.
Â
- Otterbein tacked on six more goals to make it a running clock throughout the second half, with Finnegan scoring three more times to complete her career night.
Â
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Finnegan's seven goals are one shy of the program's single-game record, as both Katy Williams (2017) and Tory Blatt (2012) roped in eight during their fine careers.
Â
- Kiera Mulcahy and Noa Crowley both scored twice to complement the attack, which finished with a commanding 34-6 shot advantage.
Â
- Otterbein won 15 of the 18 draws, headlined by six from Julia Karas and three from freshman Macey Buchanah. Karas is top-10 in the league for drawn controls.
Â
UP NEXT:
Otterbein will host cross-town rival Capital Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium, with start time scheduled for the rare 4 p.m. Capital is currently 5-0 in OAC play.
