WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University officially inducted its 12th-annual Athletics Hall of Fame class over the weekend, fittingly comprised of 12 standout individuals during enshrinement at The Point - STEAM Innovation Center on Saturday, September 14.
The 2019 class featured six living inductees and six others recognized posthumously, all representing different backgrounds and achievements from various Cardinal sport programs. This year's group brought the Hall of Fame class to 109 members, representing approximately a half-percent of all student-athletes, coaches and contributors to be associated with Otterbein.

Bob Arledge (track and field, class of 1955)
- 4x track and field letterman
- Also competed as quarterback for two years
- First/only Otterbein athlete to earn points at OAC Swimming and Diving Championships
- Six U.S. Track and Field pole vault championships and 2018 World Champion in 85-89 age group.

Bob Boggs (cross country/track and field, class of 1990)
- 6x OAC individual champion
- 2x All-American in cross country (13th and 25th)
- Member of four OAC team titles
- Won three events to help Men's T&F win first OAC crown in 1990

Nick Gutman (men's basketball, class of 1994)
- 2x NABC All-American
- 3x first team All-OAC, Player of the Year in 1994
- Part of four-straight OAC Tournament titles and 11 NCAA games
- 2,306 career points (sixth all time in OAC history)

Gene Keel (football/track and field, class of 1953)
- Part of class that beat rival Capital three times, outscoring Crusaders 115054
- 157-40-4 record spanning 22 years coaching West Jefferson HS
- Won 13 league titles and 1876 Class A State Championship
- Member of Ohio Coaches Hall of Fame

Mandy Simmerman (volleyball/women's basketball, class of 2001)
- First volleyball player in HOF (graduated with seven school records)
- Top-10 in OAC history with 2,046 digs and 1,747 kills
- First volleyball Academic All-American
- Four-year player for women's basketball

Art Stovall (football/track and field, class of 1990)
- Started 39 of possible 40 career games at defensive back
- Football Gazette All-American
- 157 tackles and 53 career pass breakups
- All-OAC in track and field (hurdles and jumps), part of 1990 championship team

Ray Chadwell (multiple sports, class of 1950)
- 10 letters across football, basketball and baseball
- Decorated coaching/administrative career at London HS
- Guided Dick LeBeau, Jim Hackett, Dick Reynolds and Gary Reynolds
- Member of Central Ohio Basketball Coaches HOF
Gene Clark (multiple sports, class of 1950)
- Defensive end for 1946 OAC Champion FB team
- Played at Ohio State for two years before WWII
- Taught and coached at Linden McKinley HS

Paul Davis (football, class of 1948)
- Two-year football letterman as a fullback
- Played at OSU before coming to Otterbein
- Drafted by Pittsburgh Steelers in 1947 (round 24)

Barney Francis (multiple sports, class of 1933)
- Earned 10 total varsity letters across four sports
- All-Ohio forward in basketball
- 2x team captain in both football and basketball
- Graduated with school record in javelin throw

Hubert Pinney (football/track and field, class of 1928)
- Three letters in both sports
- Played quarterback, defensive end and punter
- Graduated with records in broad jump and high jump
- Member of first-ever Westerville HS football team
Ray Schick (football/track and field, class of 1934)
