WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Otterbein women's soccer returned home Thursday night looking to get back on track, following its first loss of the season, hosting Adrian College (Mich.) inside Memorial Stadium. The Cardinals (4-1-1) appeared to have the game wrapped up with under five minutes remaining until Adrian (4-2-2) found the back of the net twice to erase a 3-1 deficit.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Myiah Kelley broke through for her first goal of the season when Emily Ganz was able to send a pass across the box at the 28:26 mark, giving the Cards a 1-0 lead.
  • Adrian would not be denied as Caroline Fleming answered the Cardinal goal to start the second half scoring frenzy at 58:28.
  • Otterbein then ripped off two consecutive goals when Delaney Earl found a wide open Bella Shivley streaking into the box for a chip shot goal.
  • Delaney Earl then found the back of the net for herself at 76:36, giving the Cardinals a 3-1 advantage.
  • Adrian furiously erased that deficit down the stretch, beginning with an Angela Davis goal from a corner cross by Fleming at 85:24.
  • With just 33 seconds remaining Mckenna Mahoney corralled a rebound in front of Cardinal goalie Erin Gordon, sending the game to overtime at 3-3.
  • Neither team could find the net in the overtime periods with Adrian controlling the majority of OT possession.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
  • This was the first matchup between Adrian and Otterbein in women's soccer.
  • The Cards last tie came on October 24th of 2018 at #23 Ohio Northern, a 2-2 final.
  • Erin Gordon made 10 saves for the Cardinals playing all 110 minutes in goal.
  • Otterbein did not manage to get off a shot in either overtime period.
