Agony in Alliance: Last-Second Layup Beats Otterbein

Alliance, Ohio- Women's basketball found themselves in a tightly contested battle Saturday afternoon on the road at Mount Union. The Cardinals led the Purple Raiders late in the game before an and-one conversion by Haile Peoples-O'Neil gave Mount a two point lead with just three seconds showing on the clock. Otterbein got a great look at sending the contest into overtime, but Abbie Scholz shot in the paint rolled off the rim as the buzzer sounded, and Mount escaped with a 66-64 victory after a hard fought 40 minutes of action.
