ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Otterbein football team fell victim to No. 4-ranked and host Mount Union Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Raiders posted a shutout on their Homecoming Weekend around campus.
The Cardinals, falling 55-0, will now look to regroup with an upcoming bye week before traveling to Heidelberg for a Rhine River Cup showdown come Saturday, October 16.
Mount Union, meanwhile, remains unbeaten so far this fall at 4-0. The Raiders led 14-0 after one quarter and then built the cushion to 42-0 by the break.
Otterbein received 26 carries for 91 yards from freshman
Ahjay Cody, making his debut in the backfield after having to miss some time early this season. Quarterback
Bryce Hall completed 13 of 28 passes for 109 yards while tight end
Jeb Jones caught 3 for 43.

Caleb Rice led the defense with seven tackles each. Perry also had 1.5 TFL's.
Mount Union held a 630-210 edge in total offense, went 3 of 5 on fourth down and forced Otterbein to punt seven times in the first half. QB Braxton Plunk finished 17 of 27 for 313 yards.
