WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein women's basketball team dominated its home opener Tuesday night inside the Rike Center, dropping 53 points before intermission en route to a lopsided result over Waynesburg.
The Cardinals, pulling away to win 90-62, now stand 4-1 on the season heading into their Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener after Thanksgiving at cross-town rival Capital.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was all Otterbein early and often. The Cards held a 26-10 lead after the first quarter, with sharpshooter Natalie Galaida burying a triple in the closing seconds.

- Both sides traded buckets early in the second quarter before Otterbein took control for good, using a 15-2 run over the latter portion of the frame to blow the doors open.

- Otterbein enjoyed the liberty of working in multiple players throughout the second half, with 18 Cardinals seeing the floor but nobody playing above 21 minutes.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Katie McCrary (14), Jenna Hoschouer (13), Galadia (12) and Kathleen DeCarlo (10) all scored in double figures. Hoscouer's all-around effort also included seven rebounds and six assists.

- Otterbein finished with scoring edges of 54-24 in the paint and 43-16 off the bench.

- The Cardinals also tallied a 21-4 advantage in points off turnovers.

- Brooke Fuller had game-highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds for the visiting Yellow Jackets.
