WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Coming off a 9-2 blitzing of Baldwin Wallace on Sunday, the women's soccer offense did not let off the gas in another dominant performance over John Carroll. The Cards jumped out to an early lead and never looked back to ultimately claim victory, 4-0.
The win moves Otterbein to 4-0 overall while the Blue Streaks fall to 2-2 on the season.
HOW IT WENT DOWN:
The Cardinals opened the scoring at the 8:53 mark when
Emily Ganz sent a ball across the face of the goal that eventually found its way to
Delaney Earl. The Cards leading goal scorer then showed off some fancy footwork to dribble past her defender and score it with her left foot.
Just four minutes after she entered the match off the bench
Myiah Kelley scored the second goal of the night with a fancy dribble move through the back line of the JCU defense. The scoring for the half stopped there even though Otterbein held a 14-2 shot advantage through the first 45 minutes of action.
Just a minute into the second half
Bella Shivley was back to her same old ways, this time setting up Ganz for her first score of the season. Ganz didn't stop there though, she added another score just eight minutes later with a high arching shot that found its way into the back of the net from deep range.
The Cardinal defense stood strong once again in posting its third shutout in four games.
Erin Gordon went the distance making three saves when called upon.
