FINAL RESULTS
MARIETTA, Ohio - A fourth lopsided victory of the spring season was racked up by the Otterbein women's tennis squad Thursday afternoon, leaving the Beren Tennis Center with a dominant 9-0 victory over the host Pioneers.
The Cardinals, jumping to 4-1 on the season, won all three doubles matchups and then cruised during the individual showdowns from that point on.
Erin Storrer and
Rachelle Moses claimed an 8-2 victory in the top spot, while the duos of
Madi Mueller/
Jordyn Traxler (8-1) and
Rachel Ferguson/
Julia Gillin (8-0) finished wiithout a blemish.
The six Otterbein players then combined to drop just three total games in the latter section as Storrer, Mueller and Ferguson all went 6-0, 6-0. Storrer remained perfect on the season individually at 5-0, while Traxler now stands with a combined 10-0 mark across singles.doubles.
Otterbein will have the weekend off, and then take on final exams, before a pair of contests next weekend. The Cards will finally attempt to play a rescheduled matchup with John Carroll on Friday at Ursuline College, and then host Mount Union come Saturday, May 1 on campus.
