ADA, Ohio – Otterbein Softball dropped a pair of games Thursday afternoon at the hands of Ohio Northern.
The Cardinals fell in the first game of the four-game series against the Polar Bears, 6-4, and then endured a 1-0 decision in extra innings.
The Cardinals sit on the outside looking in of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament with a record of 14-23 overall and 11-22 in OAC play.
Otterbein will welcome the Polar Bears to Westerville on Saturday for the final two games of the regular season.
GAME ONE: Ohio Northern – 6, Otterbein – 4
- ONU jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after four innings of action.

- The Cards cut into the deficit in the fifth when Hannah Lewis hit her second home run of the week (and season) over the wall in center field, she plated Taylor Baran with the shot.

- In the same half inning Katrina Wierzbicki hit another two-run shot over the wall in center, her fifth of the season.

- ONU answered with an RBI double in their half of the inning and held on for the win.

- Brook Crosby takes the loss in 4.1 innings of work, allowing just three earned runs.

GAME TWO: Ohio Northern – 1, Otterbein – 0 (8 inn.)
- After both sides crossed multiple runs in the first game, neither side could plate anything through the first seven innings.

- Both sides saw opportunities to break the tie throughout with each side leaving six runners stranded.
Â
- Jess Gunter was handed the loss despite allowing just five hits in 7.2 innings of work, she struck out two batters and allowed just one walk.
