WILMINGTON, Ohio – After a full week off to regroup, the No. 20-ranked Otterbein volleyball team got itself back into the win column Wednesday night with a sweep down at Wilmington by scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-17.
THE RECORDS:
The Cardinals improve to 15-5 this year as a whole, and further Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play in the right direction by improving to 3-1 against the league.
Wilmington, delivering a nice sweep against Capital on the same court this time last week, move to 8-13 on the fall slate.
HOW IT PLAYED OUT:
- Otterbein only led 7-5 in the first set before creating separation, doubling up the Quakers at 16-8 and easing into the match lead.
Â
- The middle frame was much closer before the Cards took control again, turning a marginal 14-11 lead into a 21-14 cushion moments later. A kill from middle hitter Aubrey Geis would punctuate the set.
Â
- Otterbein also led from start to finish in the third set, extending a 13-11 lead midway through on four-straight points and never looking back. Â Â
Â
STATS THAT MATTERED:
- Setter Carlie Craycraft averaged more than 12 assists per set for an offense that hit .306 collectively, receiving a combined 24 kills from Morgan Hartman and Amber Greeley.
Â
- A variety of players worked themselves into the rotation, as Amanda Troyer paced the back line with 16 digs.
Â
- Geis had four block assists while Hartman added another three. The Quakers hit just .100 for the night.

UP NEXT:
Otterbein head over to Tiffin for a tri-match that closes out the week, taking on host Heidelberg in OAC play before playing Albion in the final non-conference outing this regular season. First serve from Seiberling Gymnasium is scheduled for noon.
