TUCSON, Ariz. – The ball kept rolling for Otterbein in a doubleheader with Augsburg at the Kino Sports Complex on Sunday morning, as the Cardinals swept both games and getting to double-digit victories this young season.
Otterbein prevailed by counts of 7-2 and 8-4 vs. the Auggies, running its winning streak to seven games and now standing a crisp 11-2 overall.

GAME 1 RECAP:
Augsburg, making its debut at the Tucson Invitational Games, held a 2-1 lead after the fourth inning behind a solo blast to left field. But freshman hurler
Luke Walter remained steady throughout, allowing just one hit the rest of the way to keep just two opposition runs on the board.
Otterbein's potent offense eventually found some rhythm in the fifth as the first six Cardinal batters reached base. Bunt singles from
Ryan Grant and
Brayden Carter preceded a laser 2-RBI double by
Noah Sprowls.
Jamie Perebzak added an RBI poke up the middle to bring Sprowls back around.
Grant, Carter and Sprowls turned the lineup over in the next inning with three-straight singles to begin a sequence of two insurance runs. Walter (2-0) didn't need much help either way down the stretch by tossing his second complete game of the trip.
Sprowls finished with four RBI and five Otterbein hitters enjoyed multi-hit games.

GAME 2 RECAP:
Freshman pitcher
Trevor McKendry also had to overcome some early adversity to notch his second win on the mound, as a long ball from Augsburg in the second inning put Otterbein in a (brief) 3-2 hole.
The Cards responded in the bottom half with three themselves, including an RBI-double from Perebzak to bring home Carter. Both sides traded runs in the third before Otterbein found some breathing room in the fifth, with Carter moving the baseball for a run and then catcher
Max Latkovski hustling home (head first) on a wild pitch.
McKendry threw a clean fourth inning to grab enough work for the win. Classmate
Sam Sethna chucked two scoreless for a hold and
Nick Plucinski contributed a 1-2-3 seventh for a culmination.
Carter, Sprowls, Grant and
Nathan Weita added multiple hits to the board as Otterbein tallied a combined 23 base knocks on the day.

MONDAY FINALE:
The Cardinals will play their tenth and final game of the trip bright and early in the morning, facing off against Hamline before making the trek back east.
