Irby scores career-high 23 points as Women’s Basketball concludes Maine trip with 61-39 win at Husson

BANGOR, Maine — Sophomore Kyla Irby scored a career-high 23 points to lead the Otterbein women's basketball team to a 61-39 victory at Husson on Sunday afternoon, wrapping up a two-game trip in Maine.

  • First Quarter: Irby kicked off the game for the Cardinals with back-to-back 3-pointers while scoring Otterbein's first eight points. The Cards held the Eagles to just five points in the first quarter, ending the period with a 15-5 lead.
  • Second Quarter: Irby started the quarter strong, adding four more points to the scoreboard. Husson finally broke through with its first basket of the quarter with under five minutes left. The Eagles then rallied, scoring 12 additional points to narrow the gap to 13, 32-19, at halftime.
  • Third Quarter: Otterbein closed the quarter with a 23-point lead, 51-28. A collective effort from the team contributed to the Cardinals' highest-scoring quarter of the game, racking up 19 points.
