WESTERVILLE, Ohio – It ended up being a tough final result for Otterbein on the men's lacrosse field Saturday afternoon despite a solid start, as visiting Adrian College erupted in the second and third quarters to earn a road win at Memorial Stadium.
The Bulldogs, emerging 16-7, force both teams back to even on the season as each squad now stands 3-3 overall.
THE SEQUENCE:
- Otterbein opened strong in a high-scoring first quarter, which saw the Cards hold a 4-2 lead before the Bulldogs netted a third with just 21 seconds left in the frame.

- The Bulldogs kicked into gear with five-straight goals in the second quarter, creating an 8-4 lead before a goal from Aidan Moore stopped the bleeding entering halftime.

- Adrian kept that pressure on by holding the Cardinals scoreless in the third, winning multiple faceoffs en route to six more goals. That was all part of a 14-1 run entering the final quarter.

- Otterbein found a pair of goals from Jaack Regruth and Zach Mulligan down the stretch, but it wouldn't be nearly enough as Adrian prevailed.
THE STATS:
- Adrian held a 26-14 edge in shots on goal and also won 15 of 26 faceoffs.

- Derek Hassell and Austin Selvage combined for 15 points to lead the Bulldogs, as Hassell dished out six assists.

- Moore and Dom Dean each scored twice on the home side, which did go 3 for 5 on extra-man chances.

- Both teams were whistled for five penalties across the day.

- Luke Farthing made nine saves before Zach Courie came on late in relief.

- The Cardinals now have a week off in turning their attention to Ohio Athletic Conference play, as Muskingum will come to town next Saturday (3/23) in the early afternoon.
