"Wes really connected well with everyone in our department and across campus when he was here on his visit. He not only has the capacity to stat and cover all of our events but he demonstrated great creativity in his ability to share the Otterbein student athlete experience. I look forward to multiple new initiatives that will help all of our constituents get a great sense of who our students are and what they are experiencing" said Greg Lott, Director of Athletics.
Mayberry's career began as a reporter and staff writer with the Jackson County Sentinel in Scottsboro, Alabama, from 2013 to 2015. Mayberry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with a minor in Economics, graduating summa cum laude from Ohio University in 2013. He then completed a master's degree in Sport Administration from Bowling Green State University in 2023.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Otterbein Athletics family. Otterbein has a strong history of athletics and academic success and I'm excited to lead a dynamic team of communications professionals in the promotional coverage of the Cardinals' teams and student-athletes" said Mayberry. "I want to thank Director of Athletics Dr. Greg Lott and everyone on the hiring committee for entrusting me with this opportunity to continue the great work that has been done by this department in the past and I'm looking forward to joining the community and getting started."
