Corley, Delph capture OAC Athlete of the Week honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Football's Duke Corley and Donovan Delph have been named the OAC Offensive and Defensive Athletes of the Week in football as announced on Monday afternoon.

Corley and Delph were key in Otterbein's 36-35 comeback win over Manchester University. Entering the game late in the first half, Corley was an efficient 7 of 11 for 180 passing yards while accounting for four touchdowns. The sophomore threw for a pair of touchdowns while adding two with his legs. He capped his day by finding Christian Pataky in the end zone for a successful 2-point conversion with 1:17 on the clock to earn the OAC Offensive Athlete of the Week honor.

Delph picked off two passes and blocked a field goal that would have put the Spartans up by 10 with 1:48 remaining. After an interception deep in Otterbein territory in the first half, the freshman followed with a clutch second half. Blocking the 28-yard field goal try, he later picked off a second pass on Manchester's final drive to seal the victory for the Cardinals. Delph finished with three tackles, all solo, two interceptions, a pass breakup and a blocked kick for the day to grab the OAC Defensive Athlete of the Week honor.

The football team will enjoy its bye week this weekend before returning to action on Oct. 17 at Ohio Northern University.
