Quotes
  • Head coach Brent Rastetter: "This senior class is the type of kids who did nothing but add to the program. They did things the right way and took care of business in the classroom. All of them are above 3.0 GPA, including some solidly above, and more importantly, have been good stewards of our program. Sometimes people just look at what their success was on the wrestling mat for whether they were a successful recruit or not, but I've never looked at it that way. I look and see if the program is better with them having been here for four years than before they got here, and in all seven cases here tonight, the program is definitely in a better place now because of their involvement in it."
  • Senior Cale Callahan: "Senior Night was really good. I tried to get the guys pumped up as much as I could. We were having a good time warming up. I just wanted to enjoy my last home match. I told myself before I went out there to give it my all and just have fun. I ended up beating a pretty good opponent, which made me feel pretty good. There is still a lot of the season to go and work to be done. My time at Otterbein has been a roller coaster. I came in and wrestled a lot as a freshman, and then we had some halts because of Covid. I dealt with a lot of injuries in my sophomore year and ended up not wrestling in the postseason. Last year, Coach Rastetter wasn't here for a while (due to health concerns), and this year, we lost Josh (Taylor, who died in a car accident). But every time we've faced adversity, we've always found the other side and kept on going and doing our best."

  • Callahan is 8-0, including 5-0 in the OAC, with two tech falls and two major decisions.
