WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's soccer team earned a dominant 3–0 victory Saturday night inside Memorial Stadium, blanking Baldwin Wallace to mark head coach Jason Griffiths' 100th career win.
The Cardinals opened the scoring midway through the first half when senior Patrick Ahrens made an impressive run from midfield, carrying the ball nearly 50 yards before firing a shot on goal. The Baldwin Wallace keeper managed to get a hand on it, but freshman Lincoln Wallace was in perfect position to volley home the rebound in the 25th minute.
Otterbein extended its lead in the second half as senior Nick Isaac delivered a long free kick into the box, where freshman Xavier Stocks connected to find the back of the net at 64:41. The Cardinals sealed the win late when senior Kasdin Hale sent in a cross that deflected off a defender, allowing junior Alex Greene to bury the loose ball and make it 3–0 in the 86th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jason Villalobos played all 90 minutes in net, recording the shutout with four saves on the night.
Otterbein finished with 11 total shots and 10 on goal along with two corners. Baldwin Wallace posted 13 total shots and four on target.
The Cardinals will return to action Wednesday evening, traveling to Wilmington for another OAC matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
