WESTERVILLE – The Otterbein University women's soccer team battled to a 0-0 draw Wednesday night against Wilmington in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action at Memorial Stadium.
The Cardinals put together a strong defensive showing, keeping the Quakers off the scoreboard while generating steady pressure on the offensive end. Otterbein tallied five shots in the first half, including one on goal, and earned three corners. Wilmington managed four shots in the opening period, forcing seanior goalkeeper Ella Schwertfager to make three saves.
Both sides continued to trade chances throughout the second half, with Otterbein holding a slight 6-4 edge in shots. Schwertfager stayed composed between the posts, finishing the night with four total saves in a full 90-minute effort.
Seniors Camryn Earl and Casey Rigel led the Cardinal attack, each recording three shots and two on goal.
Otterbein moves to 6-5-2 overall and will return to action this Saturday, Oct. 18, traveling to New Concord for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Muskingum.
