Men's soccer season ends in NCAA First Round

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – On Saturday, the Otterbein University men's soccer team saw a historic season come to a close, falling 3-0 to No. 23 Hampden-Sydney College in the NCAA First Round. 

With chances limited in the first half, the Tigers broke the scoreless tie in the 26th minute off a corner kick. Otterbein's best opportunity came early in the match when a Lincoln Wallace shot was turned away by the H-SC keeper.

Otterbein continued to pressure the hosts in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer. The Tigers netted a clutch insurance goal in the 85th minute, and added the exclamation mark three minutes later with their final strike. 

Jayden Burdine made three saves in net for the Cardinals. 

Otterbein's season ends with an 11-3-6 overall record, making its third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
