Esports wraps up playoff schedule

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University Rainbow 6 team wrapped up its schedule in its final regular season week before entering the playoffs. 

Rainbow 6 started off in ECAC Division 1 for the last regular season game, taking on No. 2 nationally ranked Fisher College. The Cardinals fought hard but ultimately came up short, 2-0. In the ECAC Division 1 quarterfinals, they had a rematch with Fisher, falling 2-0. Coming in as the 11th seed in Midwest R6, the Cardinals played against 22nd seeded Rockford University and won 2-0 with map wins of 7-5, and 7-5 respectively. Freshman Ben Ronk "Neb"  top fragged in game 1 and in game 2 Freshman Landon Chalfant "Nastee" led the scoreboard with 12/9/5 K/D/A. 

In Midwest R6 Division 1-3 playoffs after a win in the Round of 32, the Cardinals fell 2-0 to Michigan State University. That loss finishes the fall season for Rainbow 6 , who competed in division 7 last semester. Otterbein went 5-2 in the regular season.

With the fall season over for esports, Smash went 1-6, Valorant went 2-5, and Overwatch went 3-4 in NACE (National Association of Collegiate Esports) Varsity Premier (Top division in NACE) after a jump from the Varsity Plus division. While Rainbow 6 finished 15-8 in ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference) and Midwest R6.
