Hast, Ehrbar lead All-OAC selections; Koons named Coach of the Year

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The OAC Regular Season Tri-Champion Otterbein women's soccer team saw five members from its team along with head coach, Brandon Koons, honored with All-OAC recognition, as announced Wednesday morning.

Rae Ehrbar, Kylie Hast and Cami McCulty were all First Team selections, as Ella Schwertfager was named to the Second Team and Keaton Aspacher was a Third Team pick. Hast was chosen as the Defender of the Year and Ehrbar was named Co-Midfielder of the Year. Koons collects his eighth OAC Coach of the Year award, and his first since the spring 2021 season.

Ehrbar has been the engine of Otterbein's offense this season, leading the squad with nine goals. The senior's 19 points rank her fourth in the league, as three of her nine goals have proven to be game-winners. This is Ehrbar's second All-OAC accolade after being a Third Team selection in 2024. She becomes the first Cardinal to receive Midfielder of the Year honors since 2021 (Bailey Zanella).

Hast has spent all season leading a back line that conceded just six goals in conference competition. Starting all 17 games as a center back, Hast has been a key to Otterbein's success defensively. She becomes the first Defender of the Year for Otterbein since 2023 (Payton Kaufman).

For the second year in a row, McCulty finds herself with All-OAC accolades after being a Second Team pick in 2024. The senior has started all 17 games, scoring two goals for the Cardinals. Her strike at Mount Union was the game-winner, as she added her second goal of the season at Muskingum.

The leader in goal, Schwertfager becomes a three-time All-OAC honoree. Logging over 1400 minutes in goal this season, the senior has made 59 saves and has been tremendous in OAC play. Some of her most memorable saves came in the final minutes of the Capital and Marietta games, preserving 1-0 wins for Otterbein.

Aspacher was named to the Third Team for the second straight year after a one goal, two assist campaign. The sophomore has started 15 contests for the Cardinals as a defender, helping solidify a strong Otterbein defense.

Koons has led the Cardinals to an 8-6-3 record, including 4-2-2 in the OAC en route to his 12th regular season championship. Earlier this season, he reached the 350 career win milestone and has not turned in a losing season in 27 years at the helm.

As the No. 1 seed in the OAC Tournament, the Cardinals will host Ohio Northern tomorrow for a semifinal game. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
