WESTERVILLE – The Otterbein women's basketball team continued Ohio Athletic Conference play at home on Saturday afternoon, earning a 92–40 victory over Heidelberg University inside the Rike Center.
Otterbein set the tone early with defensive pressure, forcing turnovers and building a 20–7 lead after the first quarter. The Cardinals continued to control the game in the second, extending the advantage to 44–15 at halftime while limiting Heidelberg to five field goals in the period.
The Cardinals showcased balance throughout the lineup, finishing with 49 bench points and scoring 50 points in the paint. Otterbein also capitalized off turnovers, converting 32 Heidelberg miscues into 37 points on the offensive end.
Junior Abby Rawlings led all scorers with a season-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting. Sophomore Kiara Hudgins added 13 points and three steals, while freshman Kate Mosher finished with 12 points and six rebounds, tying her career high that she first set earlier this season against La Roche. Sophomore Kadence Conley provided a spark off the bench with a career-high 11 points in 14 minutes of action.
With the lead established early, Otterbein was able to rotate freely and get contributions throughout the lineup while maintaining consistent defensive intensity across all four quarters. The Cardinals forced 18 steals and out-rebounded the Student Princes 43–22.
The win moves Otterbein to 6–2 overall and 2–0 in OAC play. The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17, when they host Marietta College inside the Rike Center.
