WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Sophomore Karson Nail's first period pin secured a 27-21 win for the Otterbein University men's wrestling team over Muskingum University. With the win, the Cardinals improve to 2-0 in the OAC.

Starting the night with a quick six points, freshman Marcy Olivo pinned Anthony Unger in 3:34. The 125-pounder earned his first collegiate pin. The Fighting Muskies immediately had a response, winning the next two bouts by fall to hold a 12-6 advantage heading into the 149 bout.

At 149, Zach Orseno battled to earn four points for the Cardinals. The senior used early dominance to win 13-5 and vault the momentum back into Otterbein's favor. Sophomore Luke Dolan added five more for the Cardinals with a 17-2 tech fall at 157. Dolan earned the win in just 3:39 and improved to 9-1 overall on the young season. After a Muskingum forfeit at 165, the hosts took a 21-12 lead into the final four matchups.

Muskingum briefly halted the momentum, winning the 174 and 184 bouts by decisions, cutting Otterbein's lead to 21-18. Nail stepped onto the mat at 197 and dominated from the start before earning his third pin of the season and securing the Otterbein victory.

On Saturday, the Cardinals head to Ohio Northern University to compete in the ONU Invitational. Matches will commence at 9 a.m.
