Quotes
  • Head coach Diana Noles discusses the seniors: "Soph and Maizie—it was awesome to give them some recognition tonight. Neither of them spent four full years with us. Maizie transferred in as a sophomore, and Soph joined the team in the last couple of years. It was definitely a different experience, but they both made a real impact on who we are as a team, our culture, and ensuring we competed the right way. It was great to give them that recognition and have their families here. Both played great and had some special moments tonight. As a coach, that's all you want — for them to be recognized and have a moment in the game where they feel great. They both deserved it."
  • Senior Maizie King reflects on the game and her career: "Today was so much fun — lots of minutes and exciting plays. We wanted to run them off the floor, and I think we did. Playing with Soph was special, especially seeing her get that and-1 at the end. Kath and I work together a lot, so that was rewarding too. Looking at my career, I've grown a lot since transferring in as a sophomore. It's been challenging but also incredibly rewarding. Being a student-athlete is one of the best decisions I've ever made, and I'm grateful for the journey."
  • Sophomore Kyla Irby reflects on her career-best performance: "I thought we started off a little slow, but once we hit shots, we found our rhythm. We ran well in transition, got open layups and played strong defense, forcing turnovers and making the right passes.I just played within the flow of the game, and my teammates did a great job getting me open. Once I saw the ball go in, my confidence kept growing. I just wanted to have fun out there."
