WESTERVILLE — Junior Emma Calkins and sophomore Maggie McVicker hit home runs as the Otterbein softball team split a non-conference doubleheader against Wittenberg on Wednesday. The Cardinals opened with a 10-7 win before falling 10-1 in five innings in the second game.

Otterbein Stat Leaders - Game 1

• Graduate student Caroline Heller finished with three hits and one RBI.
• Calkins tallied two hits, including the home run, to go with four RBIs and two runs.
• McVicker added two hits, including the home run, to go with three RBIs and one run.
• Sophomore Kennedi Endsley posted one hit and three runs.
• Junior Caitlin Wilkins had one hit, two RBIs, one run and one steal.
• Junior Kiley King earned the win in the circle, pitching 2.2 relief innings.

Game 1 Highlights - Otterbein 10, Wittenberg 7

• An RBI single from Heller in the bottom of the first inning represented the only score by either team over the first four frames.
• Wittenberg broke through in the top of the fifth with six runs.
• Trailing 6-1, Otterbein tied the score in the bottom of the fifth, which was highlighted by a three-run homer from McVicker and RBI single from Calkins.
• The Cardinals took a 10-6 edge with four runs in the bottom of the sixth, getting one on an RBI single from Wilkins and three more on a homer from Calkins.
• The Tigers plated a run in the top of the seventh, but Otterbein held on for the 10-7 victory.
• Both teams tallied 10 hits in the game. Otterbein committed three errors to Wittenberg's one.

• McVicker had one hit and one RBI.
• Junior Rachel Miller and freshman Bri Dowell had one hit each.

Game 2 Highlights - Wittenberg 10, Otterbein 1 (5 inn.)

• Wittenberg scored four runs in the first inning, three in the second and one in the third for an 8-0 lead.
• The Tigers scored two more runs in the top of the fifth for a 10-0 edge.
• The Cardinals scored their lone run of the game on an RBI single from McVicker in the bottom of the fifth.
• Wittenberg out-hit Otterbein by a 10-3 margin. Otterbein committed seven errors to Wittenberg's two.

• Heller has 134 hits, 34 doubles and 76 RBIs in her Otterbein career. She is tied for fifth all-time in doubles.
• Senior Isa Lewis has 86 hits, 47 RBIs and 28 steals in her Otterbein career.
• Named the OAC Rookie of the Year in 2024, Endsley has 64 hits and 26 steals in her Otterbein career.
• Miller has 60 hits in her Otterbein career.
