Women's Lacrosse celebrates Senior Day with 17-10 win over Muskingum

Robey, Glenn lead way with impressive showings

WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a 17-10 win over Ohio Athletic Conference foe Muskingum on Friday as junior Ava Robey and sophomore Alyssa Glenn put together impressive performances worthy of the record books.

The Basics
  • Records: Otterbein (2-13 overall, 1-5 OAC), Muskingum (6-9 overall, 1-5 OAC)
  • Venues: Memorial Stadium - Westerville, Ohio
  • As part of the Senior Day festivities, the team recognized 2025 seniors Abby Chappell, Nina Domanik, Maggie Nance and Riley Smith and fifth-year senior Kate Schimmel in a ceremony prior to the game.
Otterbein Stat Leaders
  • Robey tallied 13 points on four goals and nine assists to go with three caused turnovers and three draw controls. The nine assists ties her own program single-game record, and the 13 points ranks second all-time at Otterbein for a single game.
  • Glenn scored eight goals and added 12 draw controls. The eight goals is tied for fourth all-time for a single game in program history, and the 12 draw controls ranks fourth all-time at Otterbein for a single game.
  • Freshman Emily Williams had two points on one goal and one assist.
  • Domanik, Chappell, freshman Reese Cromwell and junior Kate Machuca scored one goal each.
  • Nance played all 60 minutes in goal and recorded 10 saves.
Game Highlights
  • First Quarter: Otterbein scored the first two goals of the game, as Glenn and Machuca found the back of the net on assists from Robey. Muskingum scored three of the next four goals to tie the game at 3-3. Glenn scored the Cardinals' lone goal in that stretch on an assist from Robey and added another to put Otterbein up 4-3 with 3:56 left. The Muskies closed the quarter with two unanswered goals to take a 5-4 edge into the second period.
  • Second Quarter: Glenn found the back of the net on an assist from Robey to tie the score at 5-5 with 10:45 left. After Muskingum retook the lead, the Cardinals closed the quarter with two unanswered goals for a 7-6 halftime edge. Cromwell scored with 7:04 left and Robey added a goal with 2:25 remaining.
  • Third Quarter: The Cardinals put together a 3-0 run to start the third quarter for a 10-6 lead. Glenn scored just 12 seconds in, and Williams added a goal on an assist from Robey with 13:52 left. Robey capped that run with a goal assisted by Williams with 11:29 remaining. Domanik answered a Muskingum goal to keep Otterbein's lead at four, 11-7, and Chappell and Robey scored back-to-back goals in reponse to a Muskie score to put the Cardinals up 13-8 with 2:28 left. Muskingum capped the scoring in the period with a goal with just eight seconds remaining to go into the fourth trailing 13-9.
  • Fourth Quarter: Otterbein outscored Muskingum 4-1 over the final 15 minutes. Glenn put together a personal 3-0 run, getting assists from Robey on all three goals, to put the Cardinals up 16-9 with 6:57 left. Following a Muskingum goal, Robey capped the scoring by finding the back of the net with 2:19 remaining.
  • Key Team Stats: Otterbein out-shot Muskingum by a 30-23 margin, and the Muskies finished with a 21-18 edge in ground balls. Otterbein won 18 of the 31 draw controls. Otterbein had 22 turnovers to 23 for Muskingum.
Notables
  • Robey is the Otterbein women's lacrosse program's all-time leader in assists (104). She has 81 goals and ranks fourth all-time with 185 points in her career.
  • Glenn has 105 career points on 94 goals and 11 assists.
  • Nance is a two-time OAC Goalkeeper of the Year and is Otterbein's all-time career leader in saves (585).
  • Entering Friday, Glenn ranked fifth in the OAC in goals (46) this season, while Robey ranked fifth in assists (27) and Nance led the league in saves (124).
  • Head coach Brooke Delara is in her second year at Otterbein and has an all-time record of 12-19 at the helm of the Cardinals.
