Glenn scores 4 goals to lead Women's Lacrosse in loss to John Carroll

WESTERVILLE — Sophomore Alyssa Glenn scored four goals to lead the Otterbein women's lacrosse team in a 16-5 loss to undefeated John Carroll in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Wednesday night.

Game Highlights
  • First Quarter: Otterbein opened the scoring courtesy of a goal from Williams assisted by Wallace with 13:33 left, but JCU responded with three unanswered goals for a 3-1 lead. After Glenn scored a man-up goal on an assist from Robey with 1:06 remaining, the Blue Streaks capped the scoring in the period with a goal with just one second left for a 4-2 lead.
  • Second Quarter: Glenn scored a free-position goal on a man-up opportunity to get Otterbein within 5-3 with 12:41 left and added her third goal of the game with 8:58 remaining to make the score 6-4. Her fourth goal of the contest came with 6:45 left on a free-position shot in a man-up opportunity to get Otterbein within two, 7-5, but JCU closed the period with three unanswered goals over the final 6:24 to take a 10-5 edge into halftime.
  • Third Quarter: JCU scored twice in the third quarter, once with 11:23 left and again with 5:34 remaining, to take a 12-5 lead into the final quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter: The Blue Streaks outscored the Cardinals 4-0 over the final 15 minutes for the 16-5 win.
  • Key Team Stats: John Carroll out-shot Otterbein by a 39-19 margin, and the Blue Streaks finished with an 18-9 edge in ground balls. JCU won 19 of the 25 draw controls. Otterbein had 16 turnovers to 20 for John Carroll.

  • Robey is the Otterbein women's lacrosse program's all-time leader in assists (91). Robey has 69 goals and 160 points in her career.
  • Glenn has 89 career points on 80 goals and nine assists.
  • Nance is a two-time OAC Goalkeeper of the Year and is Otterbein's all-time career leader in saves (549).
  • Entering Wednesday, Glenn ranked fourth in the OAC in goals (36) this season, while Robey ranked fifth in assists (22) and Nance ranked second in saves (89).
  • Head coach Brooke Delara is in her second year at Otterbein and has an all-time record of 11-16 at the helm of the Cardinals.
  • John Carroll had won 10 straight games against Otterbein until the Cardinals came away with a 14-12 victory over the Blue Streaks in University Heights last season.
