Men's Lacrosse closes regular season with 16-9 win over Marietta

WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein men's lacrosse team closed out its 2025 regular-season schedule Wednesday night with a 16-9 win over Ohio Athletic Conference foe Marietta. With a 6-3 conference record, the Cardinals finished in a three-way tie with Mount Union and John Carroll for third place in the league standings and will be the No. 4 seed in the OAC Tournament.

Otterbein Stat Leaders
  • Senior Dom Dean led the Otterbein offense with seven points on four goals and three assists.
  • Fifth-year senior Max Graham tallied six points on four goals and two assists.
  • Sophomore Jack Regruth added three points on two goals and one assist.
  • Sophomore Andrew Lewis scored two goals.
  • Senior Nathan Lewis, junior Zach Mulligan and freshman Max Luther posted matching stat lines of two points on one goal and one assist.

Game Highlights
  • First Quarter: Otterbein outscored Marietta 4-0 in the first quarter. Andrew Lewis opened the scoring, finding the back of the net on an assist from Mulligan with 7:21 left. Graham added a goal on an assist from Regruth, and Dean scored the other two goals in the period over the final 2:10.
  • Second Quarter: Marietta scored first in the second quarter, but Otterbein answered with three consecutive goals for a 7-1 lead. Regruth scored on an assist from Nathan Lewis to start that run. After Nathan Lewis added a goal of his own, Graham netted a goal on an assist from Rainone with 5:52 left. The Pioneers scored again with 4:42 remaining, but the Cardinals closed out the quarter with a 4-0 run over the final 4:09 to take an 11-2 lead into halftime. Graham started that spurt with a goal assisted by Luther. Dean assisted the next two goals, scored by Luther and Mulligan, and Graham capped the scoring with two seconds left.
  • Third Quarter: Otterbein made it a 12-2 lead on a goal from Rohe just 39 seconds into the third quarter, but Marietta responded with three unanswered goals. Dean capped the scoring in the period with a pair of goals assisted by Graham over the final 1:41 as the Cardinals took a 14-5 lead into the final quarter.
  • Fourth Quarter: After a pair of Marietta goals put the score at 14-7, Andrew Lewis scored with 8:54 left to keep the Cardinals well in control. The Pioneers added two more goals in the span of 25 seconds to cut the deficit to 15-9 before Regruth capped the scoring with a man-up goal assisted by Dean with 2:11 remaining.
  • Key Team Stats: Otterbein out-shot Marietta by a 54-33 margin, and the Cardinals finished with a 35-17 edge in ground balls. Otterbein won 17 of the 28 faceoffs. Otterbein committed 15 turnovers to 22 for Marietta.

  • Graham has 128 career points on 97 goals and 31 assists. He ranks fifth all-time at Otterbein in career goals.
  • Nathan Lewis has 106 career points on 64 goals and 42 assists.

  • Farthing has 421 career saves. Zach Groene (2018-22) ranks third in program history in saves with 442.
  • Entering Wednesday, Graham ranked seventh in the OAC in goals (42) and eighth in points (52), and Dean and Andrew Lewis were tied for ninth in assists (15) this season.
  • Head coach Colin Hartnett is in his 16th year at Otterbein and has an all-time record of 141-114 at the helm of the Cardinals.
