WESTERVILLE — The Otterbein women's tennis team closed out its 2025 regular-season schedule with a narrow 4-3 loss to John Carroll while celebrating Senior Day on Saturday, securing the No. 3 seed for the upcoming OAC Tournament. 

The Basics: 

• Records: Otterbein (12-7 overall, 3-2 OAC), John Carroll (10-4 overall, 4-1 OAC)
• Venue: Sanders Tennis Courts - Westerville, Ohio
• The Cardinals recognized seniors Olivia Eckels, Aubrey McMahon, Cassady Shough and Lillia Walter following the match.
• Otterbein secured the No. 3 seed and will travel to face No. 2 seed John Carroll in the OAC Tournament semifinals on Wednesday, April 30, in University Heights. 

Singles

• #1: Graduate student Erin Storrer won 6-1, 6-3 over Maddie Kavenagh.
• #2: Senior Lillia Walter won 6-2, 6-1 over Evelyn Deren.
• #3: Freshman Daniela De Mata fell 6-3, 3-6, 2-6 to Felicity Kolb. 
• #4: Senior Olivia Eckels fell 1-6, 2-6 to Madi Davila.
• #5: Senior Cassady Shough fell 2-6, 3-6 to Emma Smith.
• #6: Sophomore Breanna Ball won 6-1, 6-3 over Caroline Chandler.

Doubles

• #1: Storrer and Eckels fell 5-7 to Kavenagh and Deren. 
• #2: Walter and De Mata fell 3-6 to Kolb and Smith. 
• #3: Senior Aubrey McMahon and Ball fell 4-6 to Chandler and Davila.  

Notables

• Ninth-year head coach Tyler Stephen is 123-37 during his tenure leading the women's tennis team at Otterbein.
• Walter leads the team in overall wins on the season with a 30-21 overall record (13-12 in singles and 17-9 in doubles). Storrer is 26-13 overall (13-5 in singles, 13-8 in doubles).
• Storrer is 153-71 in her Otterbein career (74-33 in singles, 79-38 in doubles).
• Walter is 141-73 in her Otterbein career (65-37 in singles, 76-36 in doubles).
• Eckels is 83-72 in her Otterbein career (39-34 in singles, 44-38 in doubles).
