WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Five members of the Otterbein University football team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Ahmed Al Ani,
Cullen Dent,
Owen Menge,
Turtle Haney and
Zane Duning were all recognized.
Menge and Dent received their second straight CSC Academic All-District accolade, as Al Ani, Haney and Duning were all first time honorees.
In seven games, Menge did a little of everything for the Cardinals this season. He finished second on the team with 238 receiving yards and was a force on special teams, racking up over 500 yards on kickoff returns. Dent played in all 10 games this season, recording 23 total tackles. The junior added a pair of pass breakups and a pair of quarterback hurries as well.
Al Ani had a strong defensive showing this season, accounting for 19 total tackles. His four quarterback hurries ranked him second on the squad. Haney, a junior, added 28 total tackles for the Cardinals as a 10-game starter on the defensive line. Duning rounds out the selections after a season where he caught 25 passes for 230 yards and a touchdown. He added seven punt returns for 208 yards, including a 95-yard return for a touchdown.
Otterbein finished the 2025 campaign with a 1-9 overall record. The win came in the biggest of games, a 20-19 victory at Capital in the Battle for the Oar.
