Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Men's lacrosse stymied by Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – An early deficit was too much to overcome for the Otterbein University men's lacrosse team, falling 20-6 to The College of Wooster. Senior Zach Mulligan scored a hat trick, while Marcus Wright and Jack Regruth each contributed a pair of points.

The veteran Scots broke out to a 6-0 lead after one period and held a 12-2 advantage by halftime. In the second quarter, the Cardinals got on the board thanks to goals by Mulligan and Zach Merrill. Both Otterbein goals were assisted, with Andrew Lewis and Wright tallying an assist.

Wooster scored the first four goals of the third before Otterbein's first goal of the new half. Wright netted an unassisted strike, starting a run of three straight Cardinal goals. Mulligan scored two straight goals in the fourth, one on an EMO, off assists from Regruth and Nicholas King. Otterbein's final goal came late in the fourth when Regruth picked up his second assist of the evening, finding Max Luther.

The visitors won just 13 of 30 faceoffs. Junior Nick Miller picked up a team-high seven ground balls as Max Esque caused three turnovers.

On Tuesday, the Cardinals will host Trine University at Memorial Stadium. First faceoff against the Thunder is scheduled for 6 p.m.
