WESTERVILLE, Ohio – On Monday, Julian Heckman was named to the D3hoops.com Third Team All-Region 7 team. This comes after a historic season for the Otterbein University men's basketball team, earning their first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2002.

Heckman, a First Team All-OAC pick, started all 29 games this season for the Cardinals, leading the team averaging 13.2 points per game. He shot just under 44 percent from the floor and hauled in 4.8 rebounds per game, playing nearly 35 minutes per game. He led the OAC in assists (156, 5.4 APG) and steals (79, 2.7 SPG). The senior concluded his career with 1,224 points, 401 assists and 161 steals. 

The Cardinals received an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament. Returning for the first time in 24 seasons, Otterbein knocked off Wisconsin-Platteville in its opening round game, 57-52. Otterbein finished the season with a 23-6 overall record and spent the final half of the season in the D3hoops.com Top 25 poll.
