Six women's wrestlers named Scholar All-Americans

MANHEIM, Pa. – Six Otterbein University women's wrestlers have earned NCAA Women's Scholar All-American awards, as announced by The National Wrestling Coaches Association. A total of 540 student-athletes representing 92 institutions were announced by the NWCA.

Sophomores Raegan Briggs, Emmy Caton, Alicia Coleman and Kellie Kennedy were all honored, as well as first-year wrestlers Sarah Abner and Caroline Kearns.

Kennedy placed third at the NCAA Regional Championships to earn a spot in the first-ever NCAA Women's Wrestling Championships. She represented Otterbein at the event in the 110-pound weight class. Briggs was Otterbein's second regional placer on the Scholar All-America list, taking fifth at 138.

As a team, the Cardinals placed fifth in one of the nation's toughest regions, scoring 78 points out of the 18 teams.
