Lott Appointed to Division III Women's Wrestling Committee

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Otterbein University Director of Athletics Dr. Greg Lott has been appointed to the NCAA Division III Women's Wrestling Committee. His tenure begins on Sep. 1 and will continue through August of 2030.

"Otterbein has been on the forefront of Division III women's wrestling," said Lott. "Going into our program's third year, we have already reached exciting milestones having hosted the first-ever women's collegiate wrestling match in central Ohio and having a National Champion. Our program is robust with nearly 30 participants."

Through two years, the Cardinals have made strides at both the regional and national levels, finishing fifth out of 18 teams at last year's NCAA Regional. Throughout most of last season, Otterbein boasted at least one individual nationally ranked in The Open Mat rankings.

"A lot is going to happen over the next few years, structurally, to set the sport up for long-term stability and success. I'm just excited to have the opportunity to support the growth of women's wrestling and have a vested interest in creating more opportunities for our female student-athletes," added Lott.

Lott recently finished a five-year term on the NCAA Division III Coaching Enhancement Grant Selection Committee, serving as Committee Chair from 2023-26.
