Four Cardinals earn All-Region honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Four members of the Otterbein University indoor track and field team were chosen as USTFCCCA All-Region. Richmond Honkpo, Izaac Swope, Charlie Dolliver and Anastasia Smith were all recognized with the postseason accolade.

Honkpo recently finished the indoor season by earning All-American honors at the Indoor Track and Field Championships, placing 11th in the long jump. Claiming All-Region in the event, he finished second at the OAC Championships. Swope, also a junior, received the recognition in the 60m hurdles, where he was the OAC Champion at last month's meet.

Dolliver earns All-Region status in both the triple jump and the pentathlon. Setting school records in both events this season, Dolliver later became the OAC Champion in triple jump and advanced to the Indoor Track and Field Championships. The senior leapt to 11th place to be named an All-American in the event. Smith won the shot put title at the OAC Championships this season. The sophomore ranks fifth all-time in program history with her season-best mark of 13.08 meters.

Tomorrow, the track and field teams commence the outdoor season at the Charlotte 49er Classic.
