Track and field trio named OAC Athletes of the Week

WESTERVILLE – Three members of the Otterbein track and field team earned OAC Athlete of the Week honors, as announced on Monday. Charlie Dolliver and Izaac Swope swept the track athlete awards, while Richmond Honkpo earned the men's field accolade.

In the first outdoor meet of the season, Dolliver ran a personal-best time of 14.76 in the 100 meter hurdles, placing 13th in an ultra-competitive field. With that time of 14.76, Dolliver ranks fifth nationally in the event.

On the men's side, Swope clocked a 14.82 in the 110 meter hurdles. That 14.82 was a new personal-best for the junior, as he currently sits 11th in Division III in the event.

Honkpo, a National Qualifier in the log jump during indoor season, started his outdoor campaign with a bang, landing a mark of 7.08 meters to place third at the Charlotte 49er Classic. Though early in the season, Honkpo's 7.08 meter leap ranks him first nationally in the event in Division III.

The Otterbein outdoor track and field teams will compete on Saturday at the Denison Lid-Lifter.
