WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University women's lacrosse team suffered a narrow 13-12 setback to Baldwin Wallace on Saturday evening in OAC play at Memorial Stadium. The Cardinals move to 9-4 overall and 3-1 in conference action.
Otterbein controlled much of the game early, jumping out to a strong offensive start with four goals in the opening quarter and carrying a 9-6 advantage into halftime. The Cardinals continued to build momentum in the third, pushing their lead to 12-8 late in the period.
Junior Alyssa Glenn led the way with four goals and one assist, while freshmen Madi McIntosh and Leela Henry each added three goals. Freshman Dakota Klein chipped in two goals, and senior Ava Robey facilitated the offense with a game-high six assists.
Baldwin Wallace mounted a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring five unanswered goals while holding Otterbein scoreless over the final 15 minutes. The Yellow Jackets netted the go-ahead goal with under two minutes remaining to secure the one-goal victory.
Despite the loss, Otterbein saw strong defensive efforts from Glenn, who also totaled nine draw controls, while goalkeeper sophomore Alayna Bogner recorded 10 saves on the night.
The Cardinals will look to bounce back on Wednesday, April 15, when they host Mount Union at 6 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
