Joe Wilkins entered a new role with Otterbein in 2015-16, serving as an ATP Clinical Instructor within the Department of Health and Sports Sciences. He spent the previous nine years as a certified and licensed athletic trainer, primarily responsible for covering the football and baseball programs. He is also in his fourth season as an assistant baseball coach.
Wilkins, employed by OhioHealth, holds a Master's of Education degree in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia and a BA in Athletic Training from Otterbein. While working towards his Master’s degree at UVA in Charlottesville, Va., he served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at the Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.
Wilkins is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
He and his wife, Andrea, live in Delaware with their two young children; Audrey and Luke.
