Lucas DiLuca recently completed his first year as a graduate assistant coach for the Otterbein baseball program, with emphasis leading the infielders and hitters. He also serves as first base coach.
DiLuca arrived to Otterbein after earning an exercise science degree from Eastern Illinois University in 2023. A three-year starter at second base for the Panthers, he was named second team All-Ohio Valley Conference as a junior before helping the program win an OVC title during his senior campaign. EIU went on to play in the Vanderbilt regional during the NCAA Championships.
DiLuca, who was also a 2x Academic All-District selection for his work in the classroom, assembled a .974 fielding percentage with his glove and was a career .280 hitter at the plate. Prior to Eastern Illinois, he spent two years at Cuyahoga Community College where he hit a blistering .415 en route to all-conference and all-region awards.
A native of Windsor, Ontario, the Canadian attended St. Thomas of Villanova High School and coached one summer of travel baseball with the Windsor Selects. He is now working toward his master's degree in allied health (exercise science track) while at Otterbein.
