Russ Meade enters his 11th season as an assistant coach for the Cardinal baseball program, helping with the pitchers and serving as the primary bullpen coach.
A 1976 graduate of Otterbein, Meade was a four-year starting pitcher for legendary coach Dick Fishbaugh from 1973-76. During the 1974 season, he ranked third in the nation with a 1.59 strikeouts per inning average.
Meade is a member of the Olentangy High School Athletic Hall of Fame and holds the lowest E.R.A in school history with a 0.34 during the 1972 season.
He has also gained coaching experience outside of Otterbein, most notably leading the Delaware Legion Post #155 from 2000-2011.Â
The president and owner of China Business Network, Meade and his wife, Linda, reside together in Lewis Center.
