Allan Moore begins his 18th season at his alma mater, serving as associate head coach and defensive coordinator. In addition to the entire unit, he will once again oversee the defensive line during the 2022 campaign.

Moore has guided some top defensive units throughout the Ohio Athletic Conference during his tenure, including a 2012 group that led the league in turnover margin and finished second in total/scoring defense. Otterbein went 8-2 overall that season, holding six opponents under 14 points.

More recently, his 2017 unit featured 3x All-OAC defensive end Kyle Blust (graduated top-five all-time at Otterbein in both sacks and tackles for loss), 3x All-OAC linebacker Austin Jones (fourth all-time in tackles) and second team All-American safety Fred Hardgrove, who earned the OAC's Lee Tressel Award as the league's most outstanding defensive back in 2017. The Cardinal defense had 16 interceptions that year and 22 total takeaways.

Moore taught health and physical education classes at Northmor (OH) High School where he served as head football coach (2000-03) and assistant football coach/defensive coordinator (1998-2000). While at Northmor, he also assisted in wrestling and track and field.

Moore received his bachelor’s degree in physical education from Otterbein University in 1998. He was a four-year letterman and captained the football team his senior season. He received the Heart & Hustle Award in 1996.

Coach Moore and his wife, Ann, reside in Lewis Center and have two children; son, Aidan, a junior at Otterbein playing lacrosse, and 16-year old daughter, Addison.
