Schon 21

Brandon Schon

Brandon Schon begins his first year as a graduate assistant coach at Otterbein in 2021, helping oversee the inside linebackers.

Schon, a 2019 graduate of fellow Ohio Athletic Conference school Muskingum, arrives after spending two recent seasons at the high school ranks. He served as JV head coach and varsity assistant at his alma mater, Cincinnati Northwest, in the fall of 2019 before heading to New Miami in 2020. There, he held the roles of defensive coordinator and strength coach.

A college linebacker himself, Schon experienced a variety of playing experience at three different schools. He spent one season at Notre Dame College, one at Hanover College, and the final two in New Concord at Muskingum.

Schon earned honorable mention All-OAC as a senior, when he led the Muskies and ranked top five in the league with 93 total tackles. That output was 26 more than the next closest teammate, warranting Team/Defensive MVP honors.

Schon enjoyed a successful playing career at Northwest, as the program made three-straight playoff appearances during his time while achieving its first postseason victory.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in sport administration, Schon also owns a personal company called Dream Catcher Training. He will be working toward his MBA while at Otterbein.
