Clayton Adams begins his first year as a graduate assistant coach for Otterbein in the fall of 2024, remaining aboard after a lengthy playing career.
Adams, a four-year starter on the offensive line, spent five seasons overall with the Cardinals as an undergrad after exercising another year of eligibility (in 2023) stemming from the COVID pandemic.
The journeyman tackle learned the ropes with a participation award as a true freshman before starting nearly every game over his last four seasons, beginning at left tackle during the shortened campaign in 2020-21. He then moved across the line to become a three-year fixture at right tackle, helping pave the way for 2x All-OAC running back Siraj Muhammad.
Adams earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management from Otterbein while gaining nice experience in his field of study, working as a shipping and receiving associate at the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton for two summers. He was also part of the Public Relations Student Society of America.
Adams (from Homeworth, Ohio) attended West Branch High School where he was a standout/captain on the football team while also competing in track and field. There, he was a member of student council and the National Honor Society. Â
